When running sqlplus on Linux, we received the following error:
sqlplus: error while loading shared libraries: /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/lib/libclntsh.so.11.1: cannot restore segment prot after reloc: Permission deniedWe were running the Oracle Database Client 11g (11.2.0.1.0) on Red Hat Linux 5.5 x86. Our installation was valid and our environment was set correctly.
Solution:
This is directly related to SELinux.
1. As 'root', on the Gnome desktop, click on 'System -> Administration -> SELinux Management'
2. Set the following values as follows:
System Default Enforcing Mode: Permissive3. Rerun the command, and you should be okay.
Current Enforcing Mode: Permissive
System Default Policy Type: targeted
Applicable Versions:
Oracle Database Client 11g (11.2.0.1.0)
